Running into an odd audio bug tonight.

When I first started GW2, all audio was turned off (even though options said everything was on). No music or fx or anything from the character select screen to in the game.

I exited the game and started again. Music starts right up on character select, but when I log in, I get a screetching static noise that lasts for one or two seconds on about a five second interval.

Adjusting the sliders, I find that the static is affecting two different channels/options: the music volume and the environmental volume. The level of static corresponds to how high these channels are turned up.

It’s really quite annoying and unbearable. Has anyone run into this before?

Make sure your computer audio options and game options match your actual speaker/headphone set-up.

I’ve not encountered that particular anomaly, but it reminds me that I’ve not heard the awful ear-shattering loud-boom bug in quite some time. Thanks, Devs for fixing that. =)

Make sure your computer audio options and game options match your actual speaker/headphone set-up.

I’m just playing off of a laptop and using the onboard speakers. Nothing’s changed from how I normally play and how things were the last time I logged in a few days ago.

Anything I could have missed?

Well, you could try a -repair of the client, in case of corrupted file(s). It can’t hurt. (Top of Page – Support – Search/Repair) Or try updating your codex files. Also, look at your settings, in case an OS update changed something.
