Q:

The question is simple. Do you fix bugs?

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Category:Bugs

Some of the skills/traits/runes that are listed in the page above are bugged at least for 2 months, maybe even from the release date. I am still waiting for some bugs to be fixed, still nothing happens. And I have waited a long time.. I am seriously considering to leave this game. So please.. just do something. I know it isn’t easy every time, but as I said, some of the bugs are here with us since the release date.

Thank you for you answer.

Speaking as a hobbyist programmer, I’ve long since learned that there are two ways to tackle bugs and glitches: you can fix them piecemeal, constantly going back day after day to make relatively minor fixes, or you can wait until an opportunity presents itself to fix the bugs in one big package.

Right now, the bugged runes and spells work ; granted, they’re not working entirely properly (that’s why they’re on a bug list, after all), but they’re not causing insurmountable problems to the players.

Easier to fix the large problems and leave the small ones for patch day.

There have been many patch days so far, and a lot of bugs were untouched in these patches. And as far the runes are concerned, for example superior rune of rage would be a great rune for me, but the reason, I would apply it to my armor (the sixth bonus) is bugged.

This is my biggest issue with Arenanet. They release content, content, content, but much of it is riddled with bugs, and there are still bugged traits and runes which directly affect the competitiveness of unconventional builds in an already narrow meta.

It has only been 3 months, but when flaws with character development in the form of broken traits and runes, poor balancing decisions (meaning viability of weapon-sets and builds; not class balance, as I believe they are working on that) seem to be taking a backseat to the implementation of new buggy pve content.

Having said all that, the fact remains, Arenanet has developed a beautiful product with pretty solid gameplay. That alone will probably keep them alive, but they won’t be getting anymore of my cash. However, I’ll be taking advantage of a free service until the servers go down.

Let’s hope they readjust some of their priorities to include fixing rather than loading us up with mediocre content so I can start monetarily supporting the company again.

They’re walking in the footsteps of the EA debacle with SWTOR. So many bugs and problems, I can see them walking across my screen. I guess if the "devs" knew what they were doing, we’d have fewer problems or maybe ppl just need to SPEND MORE MONEY in the cash shop as an incentive for them to fix their crap.

I would add this one to the list. A trait that it seems, never worked or anybody cared that did.

Not only the footsteps of EA. Let’s not forget Cryptic/Atari.

This is the state of the MMO today. Release too soon, then fix later. But that’s not bad enough.

SWTOR and STO both launched in what is possibly the worst state I’ve seen in a recent MMO (especially SWTOR, which had five years to get things right and didn’t).

Then, when bugs by the thousands pop up, they get ignored or take forever to fix.

STO went so far as to open up test servers so that the players could QA and bug report – the idea being that they’ll fix bugs before things go live. And, of course, that never happens. Ever. Every single patch in STO breaks something else.

Why should we expect ANet to be any different when people just accept this as the norm today? This is why on every new MMO forum you’ll see people – people PAYING to play even – saying, “Give it time. It’ll get better.” When I see that, I just shake my head at them and laugh.

“Give it time” isn’t what we should accept or expect. But it’s what we get these days – and the finger of blame for that should point right at the players who say “Give it time,” because if you roll over and take a beating, the companies you pay and are CUSTOMERS of (not “players,” but “customers”) are going to take advantage of that scenario every single time.
