Dodge Rolling after most recent patch
i’ve noticed this too, most noticeable symptom is rolling in the wrong direction after spamming dodge key when immobilized, this leads you to roll backwards immediately after the immobilize wears out, instead of forwards, even if you are holding your forwards key.
Same thing here, I created a topic about it and didn’t saw yours. So —> bump. ^^
This apparently also happens with fear as well as immobilize and downed state.
I just lost a fight to a necromancer in WvW who I had already killed 3 times, because he feared me, and instead of using my attack skill, I interrupted it with a dodge roll that I tried to do 5 seconds earlier.
Please fix this ASAP.
Yeah, noticed this several times too, especially after recovering from a kd.
Wasn’t fixed in the latest patch. It seems dodging is not that important for Anet.
I’ve noticed something different but similar when you’re downed.
At the frame you are downed, it seems the buttons you’re gonna push will buffer the skill this button is assigned to, even if your skill bar didn’t appear yet.
I lost too many times my second skill while downed, the ones that must help you survive a bit longer…
Congrats to Anet, for debugging this…. which is still bugged.
Now, it can also happen when downed.
Today I tried to dodge an attack (which killed me during my dodge btw, cheers to you on this one too), got downed. The mob died, and once I rallied, my character did the dodge that I tried to do previously.
On the same note, I was in Orr today. A spider managed to immobilize me during a dodge roll. I finished my roll, and got immobilizied at the end of it. And dodged again once free, even though I did nothing.
For a core game mechanic such as this, to be so buggy is really, really, lame.
As Johnson noted, this is still broken. I died in sPvP and my character dodged immediately after respawning at the waypoint, without me pressing anything but the W key to run forward.

+1, dodge roll bug is still not fixed. Dodging after respawning in spvp.

Yeah… if it isn’t an exploit, we don’t get a quick fix.
Dodging is a pretty important part of the game, though.
Maybe the fix will come sooner than later.
Dodge roll when respawning may be another issue . When you spam click the respawn button you may also click your endurance bar that makes you roll.

I can confirm that spamming clicks has absolutely nothing to do with any of the dodge rolling issues posted thus far in the thread.
They are all legitimate complaints, and are a direct result of a change in the most recent patch (since the thread was posted).
Dodge rolling is almost queued up into your actions… and if you are immobilized, feared, downed, dead, knocked down/back, or anything that prevents you from dodge rolling, you usually end up dodge rolling the next moment you can.
Ok…. for those skeptics out there…. try this:
Swim on the surface of the water (you have no skillbar) and try to dodge roll.
Nothing happens…..
Now swim up to the shore and step back onto land…
you will dodge roll automatically without even pushing the button.

more or less good to know that it’s a client issue and i hope they will resolve it ASAP
