Guild Wars 2

I’m using a weapon and armor combination which has my magic find over 100% and I noticed I still get a lot of whites in the Orr areas. I haven’t tested the other areas as of yet. I can understand Blues and higher, but I thought Whites were not considered Magic items and instead base items. Is this a bug or intentional? With crafting materials it seems to be working fine as a lot of those are dropping more than without the magic find.

magic find increases you chance of finding magic items.
100% magic find increases your chances by 100% (not make your chances 100%) and so for example, if a magic item only has a 0.01% chance of dropping all you do with 100% magic find is turn it into a 0.02% chance.

I believe a 100% magic find increases your chance to find magic by 100%. It does not give you a 100% chance to find magic.

Say you had 5% chance to find magic, 100% magic find should give you 10% chance, not 105%.

Ah okay, I guess that makes sense as to why that is happening.

I’m at 110% magic find with all my stuff, and I still get junk items more often than anything else. I just love negative return investments.
