Can’t download the update. Starts and then errors. Suggestions?

That fix didn’t work for me. I did originally download the update, and even ran around LA, but then there was a new build to download, and I haven’t been able to play since. Have been trying for over three hours now. still can’t download.

same here, i am unable to download, or it starts, then gets an error and hangs.

I have also been trying to update after the big patch. It will start to patch then just go to the Connection error(s) and sit there.

yeah, i was playing earlier, now it tries to download something else and dies, and i can’t even get in.

Think they might be having some issues or something?

Plenty of people are able to play normally. It seems only a few of us are having problems.

Why is it that every patch I get this same problem?!. Awaiting an update that will fix this, please.

strange strange strange. I’m still having issues.

I am in the middle of a complete repair to the client.

The game kept downloading AFTER the download was completely done, over and over and over and over (I think you get the point).

So now I am going to repair it all so Anet has no excuses and will pay attention to something so gamebreaking as constant downloading even when moving from LA wp to LA wp – downloading over and over…ad nauseam.

i was loged on earlier this morning no problems, when to log on this evening , new update,its; stuck or moving so kitten slow , might take a week to update lol, i am hoping areanet knows about the problem and are working on it????

I tried the linked fix as well without improvement. Then went to http://gw2status.de/ and noted many of the asset servers were offline. Picked the IP for one that showed green and replaced the default IP in the fix with that one. Now downloading at 1Mb/sec and soon to be finished.

Running at 0-1kb/sec here. Not soon to be finished due to Connection Error(s).

If you are still having problems, try adding this to your GW2 Shortcut Target (right click on your shortcut > properties):
-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80
Here is a list of alternatives to also try:
194.25.94.170:80
174.35.71.9:80

62.154.232.194:80
You can do this by right clicking on your GW2 Shortcut and adding the above text to your Target field. For example your target should look like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80

Even with whats above I still am having issues lol, Idk what to do. No Gw for me.

some of those shortcuts are bugged the 174 one worked for me

1. Open http://gw2status.de/ in another window. Take note of which servers are in green, meaning they are up.

2. Right click your Guild Wars 2 Shortcut you use to launch the game and select “properties”
You will notice a “target” towards the top with a line of text including GW2.exe. All you have to do is copy and paste this at the end of that text…making sure there is a space between the current line of text, and the text you are adding.
-assetsrv (IP address of one of those green servers from step 1)
So it should look something like this when done:
“C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 62.154.232.128:80
Then hit “Apply” / “OK” and launch the game

I just found the gw2.exe file on my hard drive, and right clicked as administrator. That fixed the issue for me.
