I don’t believe this is a “bug” perse. It’s just a result of the way megaservers work. However, I don’t agree with people not being able to get their rewards because the chest is placed in the actual world and not as a bouncy bonus chest on our screen. People are going to crash. People are going to get disconnected. We are participating in two-hour long events. There should be more of a guarantee of rewards than hoping you don’t get thrown off the map you’re on.
Edit: And, for the sake of our collective sanity, please let us skip that cutscene after killing the Mouth of Mordremoth. I’m grinding (yes, grinding) out legendary weapon requirements here, and I’m sick of seeing it over and over again.

Same exact situation just happened to me. “Network error.”… why only on that map. I now make sure to join squads or groups on big events since the client is so unstable since HoT. It works for all the other maps, I just have to “Join in [Map]” on my teamates.
But not in DS after a success…
I believe it’s intended that you cannot join a finished map. Either because it will close very soon and that’s an oversight from regular map closing, or intentionally to keep people from just taxi-ing into a completed instance for the vendor / pods.
I do agree it’s braindead for people who crash / dc and especially considering the whole meta takes about 1 hour, give or take.
I’d suggest making it either so that you are guaranteed back into the map when you crash / dc by saving everybody’s map slot until the map closes or make sure all rewards are given via bouncey chests. The latter wouldn’t fix missing out on the vendor / pods though.
