, you have to “Defend Rhell Crankmane while he sets up his ghost control machines” in Diessa Plateau before you can continue. The event is at the Ruins of Oldgate, just north of the Town of Nolan.

Right now from the time of this post, the event is stuck at the second machine about half built and won’t continue. We tried letting him die and revived him, also wiping out the ghosts in the entire area. Nothing has worked so far. There is a multitude of us here doing the same thing and trying to get the event to continue.

I can say that as of now this is still a problem. I cannot continue on with the living world quest line because of this.

Yes, he is frozen on 1/2 machines built, and thus you cannot continue the Living Story. Letting ghosts kill him doesn’t help – he just gets frozen at 1/2 again.

Bit of an update.

I swapped toons for a bit, then swapped back again later (about 30 mins later). Rhell Crankmane had gone and then the event restarted, and this time it did complete.

Although I did notice that this time the Ghosts spawned and actually attacked him. – including the Boss Ghost. Killing him completes it. The ones that are in the area just wandering are not the ones related to the event.

For whatever reason, they sometimes do not spawn.

Already tried a LFG for a different server instance that has it succeeded. Nothing. I keep getting put in the same one so that isn’t really an option for me.

Still bugged on our server and there’s always 5-10 people wondering around wanting to complete this quest.

Woke up this morning, logged in, and low and behold, it was finished so that I could grab the item.
