Guild Wars 2

Hi, I know its a bit late but yeah I just decided to do the coin collector (or as a matter of fact to continue my collection already have 26/30).
The problem is the missing coins were no where to be found.
I followed all the guides available on the net, all youtube videos everything.
Even asked 2 of my guild mates who haven’t done any of the coins to join me and we ended with the same result: Coin #2, 3, 7 not found on the map. We didn’t check the rest of the coins if available.
We tried during and after the sandstorm, but nothing. We gave up after that.
I do not know if its a bug or if the guides on the net are out of date, I hope someone looks into this and can clarify the issue.
Attached is my character near what is supposed to be coin #3.

Short story: you can’t use most of the guides to compare the numbers (although the walkthroughs for the locations are perfectly fine). Either ignore ANet’s numbering system or scroll down for a chart comparing guide numbers with in-game numbers.

Long after the collection was launched, ANet added their own numbers, which don’t match anyone else’s. For example, Coin #2:

• In game, this is located near Ship’s Fall
• Dulfy has two guides (from July 2014). In both guides, her #2 is located near Choke Canyon

Fortunately, our frequent contributor, Ayrilana.1396, took the time (on her alt account) to match up all the in-game numbers with all the Dulfy guide numbers for this and a few other achievements.

I don’t know why Dulfy hasn’t updated her written guide nor why the wiki doesn’t include the comparison (or a note) on the relevant articles. Nor do I know why ANet didn’t just use Dulfy’s numbering system.

Saving you some time…

• Game’s #2 is Dulfy’s #15
• ANet #3 = Dulfy #16
• True #7 = Dulfy 18

tl;dr not a bug, just one group using “Imperial Units” and another using “Metric” (or the numbering system equivalents)

The wiki does include an image with all the locations numbered. You could just check the wiki image for the location and look at the image on dulfy’s guide to see the corresponding number there.
