I refer to the Game Update Notes of 5 November, where the Dye Drop rate was corrected.

Game Update Notes – November 5, 2012 – Corrected drop rate for Unidentified Dye.
On November 1, we introduced a change that unintentionally increased the drop rate of Unidentified Dye. Today’s game update corrects the drop rate for Unidentified Dye.

Since the launch of the game the dyes have been dropping for me on various toons from time to time and the random drops were exactly that …random.

After the correction to the increased drop rate of dyes mentioned in this post, I am now finding the drop rate is certainly not random as it was, but rather almost “not- at-all”.

This correction does not seem to have re-set the drop rate to “random” as before? The random I experienced was one or two in a full days play and definately a fair amount in week, but not anymore. I think I have received a sum total of 3/4 dyes since this change and play almost every day.

Anyone else experience this?

First of all: Wrong Forum category. This if for issues with the website itself, not game bugs.

But anyway: The update fixed an issue where the drop rate was extremely large, and it was, I was getting around 4 or 5 dyes in a day of playing, which is insane xD.
They are random, and I think it’s intended that you might come across multiple dyes in a day, or you might only get one in a week – both of which have happened to me since the update.

Random drop rates can be rather unfortunate either because you receive a ton of things you don’t really need (The amount of Black Lion Chests that I get is insane), or you hardly ever get anything as with you and dyes. You’re just going to have to cross your fingers and pray to Mellaggan :P

Been playing since pre-start. Been collecting herb nodes since before I could tackle Jormag and recently the drop rate has all but disapeared. Only found 2 dyes while collecting over 600 dandelion blossoms. Never saw drops this bad before. Started after the last patch/update. Just saying that it does not feel as though the drop rate “returned” to the pre-Nov 1st amount. Not at all.
