Hey all!

Running the world bosses I noticed something peculiar. Greatsword Auto attacking on the mesmer continued to increase the damage amounts between auto attack chains to the degree that the first chain would increase.

Meaning.

If GS #1 hits for 200, 400, 600 damage, then every subsequent auto attack will increase in increments of approximately 200. As long as the chain isn’t broken or interrupted.

Facing the ice shaman, continuing to chain in this manner, I was able to get a single auto attack chain to hit for approximately 60k damage total. That’s 60k damage in approximately a second.

I can’t imagine this is functioning as intended.

Additionally, the GS beam also damages anything in it’s path to it’s intended target, though I believe it starts a new chain of damage on the new target while retaining the old chain on the old target.

This all has incredibly ridiculous implications in WvW for Zerker mesmers becoming snipers.

I’m honestly surprised that 2 years into the game, people still don’t understand how damage summing floaters work.

When you use blurred frenzy, do you really think that you’re doing 3000 damage for each of the 8 hits? No, you aren’t, because the damage floaters simply keep a running total of the damage inflicted from that skill.

With the greatsword auto, the same thing is occurring.
