Guild Wars 2

After crafting the backpack and choosing the stats I am unable to put anything in the Unused Upgrade Slot, I have not tried the Infusion Slot I checked with several other guild members and they are not able to modify theirs either.

What are you trying to slot in there?

I’m asking, because the new crafting backpacks are lvl 78, so not all upgrades work for them in the first place, regardless of whether you have already chosen your stats or not.

it is beyond me why they made the new backpacks lvl 78 and not 80…

I have no idea what the market situation was, and I’m too lazy to check, but maybe they were looking for a way to make the level 65 upgrade components more relevant?

They’re a lot easier/cheaper to acquire than the other high-level backpieces we have right now so I’m thinking it might be to keep the incentive to get one of those (level 80) ones? While still having a decent alternative/placeholder for people who haven’t yet gotten to them.

Thats what it was, thank you Rayti.6531. None of us noticed that the pack was 78 and not 80. So I have to ask….why is the pack not 80?

It’s probably so that the existing Exotic backpieces don’t get totally worthless, considering that the crafted backpieces are SO much easier to obtain.
