The skill is still bugged -mostly on uneven terrain. It should work fine on flat ground so use with caution till it is fixed. Also, never use earth 3 underwater.
I’m not sure I like your suggestion as it would slow down the pace of double dagger combat in my opinion.

I dunno—maybe. I just think that it would be nicer to direct the leaps without needing a selected target. Maybe set range to 700 or something to keep it from being too imbalanced. There could be damage and immobilization on impact which opens up the possibility of jumping into mobs or groups of players and inflicting mass 2 second immobilize.
But, again, if they just fixed the skill itself this wouldn’t really be a problem.
Wednesday evening during our guild WvWvW run one of our elementalists complained of this very problem. She indicated she seemed to be rubber banding and could not control that particular skill no matter what she tried.
Like most bugged items in the game, it appears not much testing is done prior to submitting a fix, just dump it on the unsuspecting players and keep your fingers crossed the fix works.
It seems to me that Anet desperately needs a public test server environment where players can actually help them solve these problems. I don’t understand why they don’t have one available. Obviously many bugs are more noticeable if more than 15 players are using them. Works for other games as far as I can tell.
