Hello to whoever read this,

That was the first time i came across that one, and i regularly pvp in different lvls (tournaments and spvp). There’s that one huge AoE in earth focus that roots the elementalist during channeling. I will not type a name but i’ve seen this elementalist exploit it as he could jump to wherever he wanted with the AoE to make sure it will land. Can it get fixed ASAP, as they D/D Elementalist are already borderline to be overpowered, if they all start doing that… i won’t give much to balance in heart of the mists.

They’re using lightning flash during the skill cast. Since it’s an instant skill, it can be used without interrupting the other skill, allowing the ele to jump in the middle of the cast and catch someone trying to run out of the AOE. This is an old trick, and I highly doubt the devs haven’t realized it’s there yet.

not a glitch. nor is Cloak and dagger buffering into steal. its a legit technique.

That’s nothing special and has been used since day one (or at least since the first one found out it worked during channeling).

Most ele’s use up one utility slot just to do that, so I don’t see anything overpowered to that skill combination, especially because that’s (besides Fire Grab) one of very few high dmg spike skills of the D/D ele. Given the high cast time it would hit very rarely without Lightning Flash (the opponent must be either very blind, incapable of dodging or constantly rooted by allies).

Tip: You can still easily dodge that skill by counting to ~ 3 and then dodge (the channeling duration is ~3.25s). I do that everytime in pvp when I see another elementalist channeling Churning Earth, no matter if I know that he/she has Lightning Flash equipped or not.

Definitely not a glitch… It’s dagger 5 earth… And it is very tricky to land… Using lightning flash to land churning earth is a very tricky thing… Not in need of a nerf at all.
