Engi Flamethrower Damage Cone
This might seem like a minor issue, but it becomes incredibly prominent when moving with the flamethrower.
A LOT of damage gets lost when damage should have been done.
The Flamethrower ‘tracking’ issues are well known (at least to the community) and have been brought up in many bug posts. My primary hope is that the issues get fixed with the upcoming patch in April. I’m sure you’ve noticed that it has an identical bug when rapidly swapping targets; sometimes you’ll get a full animation or two in which you do absolutely no damage. It sucks to say the least.
I dont really notice that one since I dont usually target with my flamethrower. I just use right mouse to control my cam and let it auto target who it wants, since the angle of the cone is usually enough to hit what I want.
But alright. Glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed.
It’s been like this since release as far as I know. I’m not exactly hopeful for a fix, as it could be argued that nothing is really broken to begin with anyway.
Don’t use the FT auto (or similar skills, like Fumigate) with a target, aim manually and you’ll always hit. You technically don’t need a target for any of the FT skills – but sometimes the momentum prediction is nice for Flame Blast.
