While harvesting with infinite tools on my engineer, I’ve found that my flamethrower unequips frequently at the end of the harvest.

This happens with the Constortium Harvesting Sickle, the Watchwork Mining Pick, and with the Frost Wasp Logging Tool (the only infinite tools I have). This does NOT happen with normal Orichalcum/Frostbitten tools.

It happens all the time when I am out of combat, and only some of the time when I am in combat. I haven’t been able to place what combat condition prevents me from dropping my kit, but it seems to be if I’ve attacked with the kit, sometimes when the harvest finishes, my flamethrower doesn’t unequip.

It unequips after every successful plant harvest, and every successful mine. However, sometimes if there is one “strike” left in a tree, it will wait until I begin channeling that fourth strike to unequip.

This is driving me absolutely bonkers, please tell me this is something that’s being looked at?

According to someone on reddit, it might not be the tools, it might be the item booster causing the issue.

It is happening for me on every gather, whether or not I’m using infinite tools. (I only have the watchwork pick. My sickle and axe are normal tools.) I am not using an item booster. Even if I do not have a kit equipped, my weapon skills flicker at the end of a gather as if I had just unequipped a kit or dropped some other bundle.

I reported this in-game as a bug when it began to happen. It’s driving me a little nuts, too, especially if I get attacked while gathering.

The problem is the booster, not the tools. It’s just 1 of several things that make Engis lose their kits. Another is the jump pads for Tequatl in Sparkfly Fen. When you land, you have your default weapon instead of the kit you had equipped.

Both of these have been reported MONTHS ago through in-game bug reporting, apparently it’s not a high priority to fix though.
