Simple issue that’s been happening since launch.

Whenever the person who entered the dungeon leaves the dungeon or changes a character, the entire party gets kicked out of the dungeon.

It occurred again most recently earlier today when my party got to Jade Maw in FotM 18.

Once the instance owner leaves the party or changes his character the instance is not needed anymore and will be closed.

Be sure to not open the instance with an account which wants to swap characters before the end.

Where’s the bug? This is working as intended. Talk about useless junk threads.

They’re commenting on it as a design bug. Much grief is had when the instance creator has to quit and the rest of the team is kicked out at the end boss or before they can collect their loot. It’s more of a re-design request and should probably be in a suggestion-box type of thread.

I once wrote a TICKET to support to talk about a guy that EXPLOITED this “working as intended feature” (Arenanet), by exiting the dungeon instances he created as soon as he got the rewards, then laughing at your face about it and insulting you. You know what support answered? Something like “the use of this feature is discrectional”. So is up to all of us use it (or abuse it) any way we want, and if someone messes with the rest of us with it, Arenanet official response is a big “SUCK IT”.
So a thread about this mechanic in the bug subforum… waste of bits, and buries real important bugs to oblivion.
