EotM: no XP when killing an enemy player?

Hello,

Since the patch, we’ve been roaming a lot with a friend in the Edge of the Mists. We’ve been killing lots of players, but for some of them we did not receive any XP (nor loot) – as if the kills did not happen. The combat log does not indicate anything as well (only the hits being made).

This does not happen with all players though, and we’ve yet to identify the pattern. It’s not related to the level of the enemy player (upleved or 80), nor is it related to the way we kill (stomping or cleaving).

Is this a change coming with the patch? Or is it a bug?

Regards.

Possibly because some of those people were killed recently. There was a patch quite a while ago where the amount of WXP from a kill depended on how long the person was alive. Maybe that now applies to XP and loot as well.

Unless all the people not giving xp were elementalist in which case it is probably the old bug with mist/vapor form(can’t remember which).

Hello,

That’s an interesting theory. We usually go deep into enemy territory, sometimes killing the same players over again (as they justly seek vengeance), so this could be what happens. I’ll have to test more and see if players not giving any XP are ones killed near their spawn, or ones we just killed a few moments ago.

Unless all the people not giving xp were elementalist in which case it is probably the old bug with mist/vapor form(can’t remember which).

No, I’m indeed fairly sure this happened with many classes.

Thank you for your insight.
