Guild Wars 2

Everyone in my Guild and Vent server had their GW2 client shutdown. Half of them were in FotM, and about to finish. Can someone please tell us what happened to stop our progress in game?

Edit – People in LA are talking about it too. Wow…

Game crashed at exactly the same time for me except I wasn’t doing anything significant. I had just completed the Megadestroyer event in Maelstrom, looted the chest, and grabbed a lava rock as a souvenir on my way out…. Maybe it was the lava rock that did it.

we are less than impressed

I believe that 10PST was the time at which the free trial weekend finished.
The error is probably related to either A: Not being able to find a better way to get everyone in the trial kicked off, or B: Everyone in the trial getting booted simultaneously caused the engine to freak out and die.

Either one seems plausible.

It’s bad enough that there’s no WP to restart, and no way to reconnect if you DC. My Guildies were on part 3 of their FotM instance about to finish, then all of a sudden, everyone is back at the desktop with that little crash report box.

so screwing your playerbase out of whatever they were doing is more important than giving a few people some extra free time in the game? seems like a scrooge maneuver to me

yep, that was our 3rd mini as well.

Crashing and constant DC’s are also affecting WvW, Had most of the maps kicked and DC’ing all evening.

Yup. I assume Anet HQ exploded or something.
