Equipping Ascended Accessories
Great so now its easy enough to see they intended for this to happen, they clearly want people to waste their time farming materials and items only to waste them by not informing people of the limitations of equipping certain items. I mean whats really the point of playing this game to farm items you want when they design game flaws such as this to take away all the items you farm and toss them into the garbage? Makes you feel like the creators care less for our time and enjoyment and only want to punish us for not being omniscient……….

Unique tag has always been the indicator that the specific item can only be equiped once, and not only in guildwars, but in many many games.
PS: still sucks for you that you lost so much because of it, but its your own fault really.

I hear about this problem more and more.
If you don’t come from another MMO, you most likely don’t know what ‘Unique’ means. And if you are not lucky enough to be told about it in advance, you really would not have any reason to even think that this means you can only equip one of this item.
The problem is everyone including ANet assumes people knows what unique means or assumes the player will find this term important enough to research before purchasing. This is not always the case.
I always do my best to spread the word about unique items to everyone I can in game now.
