The log-in servers suddenly went down and the game can no longer connect to them for logging back in again.

Confirmed. Happens to me too.

It maaaaaay be our fault, because it happened just as we entered Diessa from Black Citadel with a group of +20 people. Piken Square and our RP event broke the game. XD -whistles-

Saw guildie go offline,online,offline,online,offline.
Then tried to walk through a portal out to the world and got thrown out of the game.
Now can’t find a login server.

Went through portal. Disconnected.

Same, lost some items while trading, figured i might need a relog and actually quit to a borked server, fun times

Some of my guildies are still playing, so servers are up, it seems just to be the login servers.

The servers cannot handle large RP events…

Who said they are planning something? It could just be because we were 30-40 people zoning to the same area at the same time. We got Error 42 as we stepped through the portal.

same here, login problem. its not planned. if they plan something they announce it :> prolly some minor issues, cause we CAN login into forum, right? and it has the same log and pass as game.

It’s 404 – Server not found

Yes, they might acknowledge it here, too. But I doubt a major dropout of players will go unnoticed by someone there. But give them the time to grab a cup of coffee before login in to their login servers, as most admins run on coffee.

And I doubt there will be a rollback, since the game servers most probably are unaffected, if only the login servers went down for some (often tricky to track) reason. So, even though this can be annoying, I will just relax and wait a few minutes, so their admins can go about their job and get the server back running.

Nevertheless, a leeeeettle more information on the customer relations department’s part would not hurt either.

And while I was posting there was a response and a fix, so, good job ANet. Appreciate it.
