I always thought the WXP bar was at the top, not the bottom. Since one can gain regular levels in WvW, it only makes sense the XP bar would still be there.

But, I haven’t been in WvW much since the expansion release. Maybe it changed for some odd reason.

Good catch. For HoT accounts, the WXP bar is on the bottom now, and one can only gain WXP (regular exp amounts will appear on-screen, but they are not the amounts being added to one’s wxp total, and in fact those points do not go anywhere). Not having masteries, a non-HoT account must still gain regular exp, which apparently just doesn’t give you anything when you level any more (I didn’t even get a swirl of light around my character).
