Guild Wars 2

As the title says, it’s an issue about the trading post. I use the trading post every single day to make money of course. The thing is that I don’t sell 1,2 or 3 types of items but instead it goes from 30 to 50 different types of item.

After browsing a few website just to see if this is a bug or not, I was taken to believe that this is a feature to prevent bots from auto selling or something like that.

It’s not that much of a big deal but I would be really happy to see this to be fixed.

yeah it is really annoying. I can’t tell you how many times i’ve gotten “error attempting to sell” so i alt tab to let it chill for a minute.

30 minutes later i wonder why guild wars 2 is open and then i realize i was in the process of selling stuff and totally got caught up in something else, haha.

I think it is to prevent bots, but every MMO i’ve played seems to have managed to get around this so i don’t know what the deal is.

I understand why the game has this but i think there should be something that player can do to make it so it occurs less frquently. A captcha code every 10 or so sales would greatly reduce the time it takes me to sell my mats i collect throughout the week.

yeah this is probably the MOST annoying part of the game….

sale 5 items , then BOOM error!!! i still have 10-20 items to sale…

I push o to close an o to re-open the TP , i sale ONE item and BOOM i get an ERROR on the second item i sale…

even if i log out , i come back sale 2-3 and BOOM , ERROR!!!!

WHy dont you guys find a way to Block or detect BOTS better ( like every single other game on the planet ) instead of Penalizing every single player in the game for selling more then 5 items in the TP!

Oh dear could we please not introduce Captcha here. I agree we need a better system but captcha is never the way.

my preferred system that would be more effective and not impede every single person in the game: can’t list more than 1 item per second. meaning it literally won’t let you click the button until that second is up (it’s greyed out) – not this system where you get a generic error popup when you try, then again when you try again, etc.

this is something that i have ran into many times as well and has been a problem since the launch of GW2. the following is just my opinion/conjecture but what I believe is the problem is when you’re selling to the lowest sell offer in a high volocity trade item (other times it could just be coincidence though) and when you click to sell, the item price changes so the TP registers an errer because ‘that item no longer exists’ as far as it’s concerned. this can happen several times in a row and then you sell a few different items and, all of a sudden, your item sells without the error. I believe that this is where the price has stabilized again allowing you to match the lowest sell order. I’m not claiming that this is DEFINITELY the case but in my experience this mainly happens when selling highly traded items and only the rare occasion with anything else which is why I consider it just coincidence. this is especially noticeable after you salvage a bunch of items and then try to sell the mats, as materials come and go very quickly and the price fluctuates up and down by a small amount. I don’t think this is an ‘anti-bot’ feature as much as it is just part of the tp mechanics itself.

Anti bot? Just put a 3 seconds delay between sells.
In the big picture the bot will still sell faster than you.

3 seconds is not enough. depending how fast you click, 5 is a more appropriate wait time. now to just relist these 120 things I have for sale… and…. it’s 15 minutes later.
