Same here. I also had this happen with the Elite Aetherblades and the Molten Bladestorm guy AND the ogres. No achievements and I’ve done all of those several times. And yes…I’ve done damage to things.
Happens on a lot of overflows for me. It rarely even shows up, along with the Marriner event, and the Lighthouse and Ogre events also won’t give credit, at least for me.

A lot of people seem to be having this issue. But I’m on teamspeak with a guildie who was in our home instance of Ebay and he didn’t get the credit, either.
I think the problem is the escort’s don’t stop and wait for us to kill the mobs…killing the mobs is what counts to the credit. I noticed none of the escorts stop, they just rush through all the mobs agroing everything and since we have to try and keep them alive, there is no chance to kill the mobs.
I have escorted all 7 moas and did not get the achievement or credit for doing the event. I didn’t get the achievement OR credit for killing elite aetherblades either (killed all 5 of them).

I believe this is what the issue actually is. This happens all the time to me on the ogre escort, although I did manage to get the achievement one time.
Basically, I believe it determines you participation in the event based on you actually killing things rather than just damaging things. Since the mobs here are fairly durable vets that come in sizable groups and the escort people just run right by most of the time, it’s common that the escort people make it to the end without you killing anything. As such, I believe it is then determining that you did not participate in the event, thus you get no credit and no achievement.
So if you’re still trying to get it, try and get to the escort event as early as possible and burst down a single mob. Hopefully if enough people are there at least a few of the mobs will die.
They should perhaps reduce some of the vets into a few regulars so that it’s easier to obtain credit but not drastically reduce the difficulty.
I got this achievement done on an overflow, along with a few other guildies. We realized that our home server (Dragonbrand) wasn’t giving us credit for the event NOR the achievement so we tested it by going into an overflow. Sure enough that was the issue. No idea why it’s so wonky but keep trying!

Just done on RoS, I led a group that escorted all 7 moas to safety but there was no event report at the end, with no credit towards “Please Follow Me to the Exit” achiev nor “All Bets are Off”.
Another commander watching over the Plaza reported the Lawson escort as bugged.
I’m not fully understanding how to get the achievement for the moa’s. I personally stomped 7 mobs and did aoe damage to many more while doing the moa escort event on Crystal Desert main server. I did not get the achievement; however, there were a few who did the exact same event at the same time who got the achievement. One person said he didn’t attack anything and got it. Would a mod please explain exactly the requirements to get the achievement when all 7 moa’s are saved. We had a Anet Mod running with us (it was approximately 1:45pm Eastern Time).
Just in case, make sure you are at their location when the event starts, jumping into the event after they’ve started moving out seems to make it not count. It failed for me the first time when I joined in half way, the second time I did it I stayed at the location they spawn in, that did the trick for me. In case you weren’t at the location the moment they spawned in it’s worth giving a shot.
So can someone please explain how you can get a successful completion of the 6 escort events and yet not get credit for the Moa event? I was in the main shard for Yak’s Bend, we completed the moa event. All 4 other of my party members, all from the same guild got credit for the “All Bets Are Off” achievement and for completing the last of the six escort events which includes the requirement for completing the moa escort. I only got completion for the 6 escort events but did NOT get credit for “All Bets Are Off”. How can you get credit for the event in one case and not the other, it’s only one event.
In this same regard, on another attempt, I get credit for “Triple Play” which is succeeding on all the defend events yet I don’t get credit for the defend Fort Mariner achievement. Once again, get the overall credit but not the specific.
This failure to get full credit for these events is really quite disturbing. This needs to be fixed.
Server: JQ. I Got credit for the moa escort achievement. Yet completed at the same time, I received no credit for all moa surviving. My party mate received credit for the all bets are off achievement , I did not. Yes I killed mobs. Yes I had successful escort. Thanks!
Having the same issue. I’ve killed mobs along the route, I’ve stayed with the moas as they run, etc. I’ve done this 3 times with no credit while the 2 people in my party got credit on first run. We’ve done this on both overflow and home server.
I got credit on a Tarnished Coast overflow. It seems that to ensure you get credit for the achievement/event, make sure you:
1. Kill at least one or two mobs linked to the event (i.e. the ones that spawn in the moas’ path, NOT the random ones scattered around the map)
2. Be present from start to finish (i.e. don’t show up late, make sure you’re there at the “finish line”)
3. Healing/buffing the moas may help (since the moas are pretty fragile, you’ll want to be doing this anyway)
4. Make sure that ALL 7 survive. It’s possible that one got killed but was not accounted for in the chaos. (In my run, the mini moa almost died, but luckily I threw on Healing Spring in time to save him. Since he’s smaller than the others, it’s easier to lose track of him.)

Just make sure you’re at the spawn when the event starts (40 min past hour) and stay on top of the moa’s (I stayed in the middle of the moa’s). Attack mobs quickly so they attack you and not the moa’s

I’ve been trying to get credit for the moa event for a while now. I’ve tried pretty much all that was recommended above, to no avail. However, as was pointed out, since there is no stopping at all, I’m not sure if I’ve managed to kill anything, but I don’t know if that’s what it is. On all tries there have been a mix of people saying that they’ve either got the achievement, or that they haven’t. As I’ve been guesting to Tarnished Coast to play with friends, occasionally being put in overflow, I’ll try a final time on my home server to see if that helps at all. I hope that this can be fixed, or maybe I finally do something right, because it’s really disheartening to complete the event multiple times, only to not be told if the event completed or failed.
I think that this event (as well as the other ‘running’ escorts) are bad designed.
I really really like the thought. Normally during escort events, the people you are trying to save are actually fighting everything and removing to move till all are dead. This, specially in the atmosphere of saving them, is much more realistic. However, the participation trigger is really really off.
My short term solution:
Everyone in the eventcircle gets gold medal and the achievement. I know this will mean people who didn’t participate at all will get it too, but it would solve this for atleast this living story.
Long term solution (for future living story events) would be to do the same, but make two factors important: a: tag atleast one event NPC, b: stay in the event circle for 75% off the event.
