Guild Wars 2

I did glider mastery and working on level 2 mastery for gliding, but because of that the story “Establishing a Foothold” won’t start or work at all as it just says “Learn basic Glider Mastery before you can continue”

Any fixes for this? i really want to continue the story

also have this problem, have glider basics, 1/6 on gliding, is more required or is it a terrible bug?

I thought I had found the same bug, but it seems there is still a glitch in the quest chain, but there may be an easy work around.

If you earn the glider mastery while tracking another quest chain it may not move to the next step until you return to Tyria, and reenter Maguma with the quest chain active.

This seems to have solved my issue.

There is still bug on this i cant proceed. this is really pathetic
I really spent hours with several work arround posted in forum and other sites.
Nothing seems to make the quest move forward.

I was having this same problem. I had returned to the Jungle, multiple times, and gained experience, mastery points, hero points, etc. Unlocked my glider and even went on to get updraft gliding last week, and it still wasn’t activating the “Establishing a Foothold”. I think I might have had my Central Tyria story activated at the time, not the HoT story, so it never registered.

I tried all the things recommended in the forums: quit the chapter, start again; quit the chapter, waypoint away to another map, reactivate the chapter; quit the chapter, start and end another chapter in another story (I’m working on Season Two now), then switch back to HoT; quit the chapter, waypoint away, activate the chapter, then walk back into HoT area. None of it worked. I finally tried one more thing: quit the chapter, rerun chapter 2 “Torn from the Sky” completely — and it looks like it worked! The scout in chapter 3 acknowledged that I had a glider and I’m finally progressing forward.
