The event in particular is “Clear Broken Spit of the Risen sea creatures replicating themselves”. However this is unable to be completed as the Risen replicators (the fish head looking things) are unable to be targeted and take no damage. The replicators also re-spawn Risen at a high rate. By the time you kill one or two, a new one has re-spawned. I tried completing this event for about 30 minuets with no progress being made. Because this event is unable to be completed, it stalls Scholar Breandan (the NPC that tells you about the event) from starting his event cycle again with the event “Protect Scholar Breandan while he examines the seabed near Broken Spit” from ever starting and this makes it imposable to complete the Treasure Hunter achievement because players need to buy a Orrian Pearl from Scholar Breandan for the achievement.

Since these events have been bugged since beta, and since they are attached to achievements, it seems like they deserve priority over bugs related to new content.

If you read my thread, you’ll see there is an extensive history of posts about this and several other bugs—just no attention (or even an official word) from ANet about it. Kind of mind-boggling.
