Well i am not sure if this would be considered a game bug but it was the only topic within support that would best relate to my criteria

It seems i have accidentally purchased two of the same ascended accessories, and unfortunately each item is unique so i can only equip one. Purchasing the extra accessory was due to a ’miss’click, so to speak. Mind you it was not cheap as it costed me 12 guild commendations and 5g, the 5 gold is no issue but the 12 guild commendations was about 3 weeks of waiting as my guild runs guild missions only once a week.

I have lost quite a bit of time due to this and i was wondering if it is possible for me to refunded the 12 guild commendations? and the 5 gold (cause i’’m an kitten =p )

More importantly is it possible for guild wars 2 to have a better ‘sell back’’ feature with merchants, this has come to mind because selling hte extra ascended accessory only gives me 4 silver =C
The feature i have in mind is simple, if you bought an item for say 20 laurels, 50 globs of ectoplasm and 5 gold, when you sell this item back to the merchant you will receive the 20 laurels and 50 globs of ectoplasm but not the 5 gold.
Same way if i sell back the ascended accessory i accidentally bought, i receive back my 12 guild commendations but not my 5 gold.

I appreciate any support from other players and the Arena Net support staff i receive about my odd situation.

Also the item which i have accidentally bought two of is the ascended accessory -> [Preserved red iris flower], link to the item on the GW2 wiki -> http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Preserved_Red_Iris_Flower

Once again….i hope someone helps me =D

You could try filing a support ticket, the worst the would say is no. Just explain the situation and say you’d like to receive the Kurzick Bauble instead. Even if they don’t remove the excess Preserved Red Iris Flower, it’s not like you’d really have anything extra since it’s account bound.

I recommend creating a support ticket; that’s the best way to ensure individual attention. (Posting in the forums is suitable for discussing the issue with the community, but almost never gets a response specific to your needs.)

Your situation isn’t odd per se, only I think ANet’s overall response will be:

  • This is working as designed.
  • Unique is defined on the wiki
  • Players are warned to be sure of their purchases before spending laurels and ecto on an item.
  • Buy-back is not a feature available in the game at this time.

Personally, I think that puts an unreasonable burden on players new to ascended gear, the very ones that can least afford to make mistakes. But changing the current system amounts to offering a suggestion on how to improve things, rather than reporting a bug.

You can contact CS about this issue, and although they used to replace the items, I believe since they became Account-bound, they no longer offer that service. Reason being, you can use it on another character.

Still, it is worth a try. Good luck.

There is a buy-back feature in game, but it’s for lower or tradeable items and only done through the vendor you sold to (selling an item to a merchant and then buying it back). I think a similar feature would be nice, if you regret purchasing an item from a vendor you could sell it back, maybe with some currency loss but at least you would be able to. If it would be required to be done only through the vendor where it was bought from and only for a certain time (maybe only during the current game session) I don’t see how it could be abused or something or which harm it could cause to economy and such.
