Excessive messaging?
By chance were you posting chat links for Waypoints or the like? I have been prevented to post several times by posting several chat links in a row, even though the chat links were different. Usually message suppression is triggered when you post the same thing several times within a short interval, however it triggers easier with chat links because it doesn’t differentiate the links and things they are “the same”.
Thanks for pointing that out, but no. I hadn’t posted any links. It also happened to a guildie running a mentor tag yesterday.
It’s an anti-spam, anti-gold selling measure that some (including myself) consider to be overpowered. Generally, if you alter the message slightly, e.g. change the order (waypoint first versus last), you can manage a lot more messages before getting suppressed. It’s also good to appoint a “lieutenant” to help with messaging.
At least, that’s what I’ve done to work around it, since the system has been in place for a long time with no word on whether we’ll see any changes to it.
