Might be that I had real tough luck, but after salvaging about 40+ Guild Defenders (Exotic Shield, PTV Stats, dropped from Champion Loot Bags) using Mystic Salvage Kits and not receiving a single Soldier’s Orichalcum Imbued Inscription I’m starting to wonder if there might be a bug.

Did anyone else make this observation aswell? Maybe with other exotic drops from champion lootbags?

You can salvage inscriptions since when?

since the last update, but only certain stats. This is done to make stats only available in drops, available for ascended weapons. So a soldiers inscription can be salvaged from non craftable exotic weapons to make those stats available for ascended weapons.

To the OP. I don’t think this is a bug, but as designed. Maybe ask on the talk page of http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Soldier's_Orichalcum_Imbued_Inscription for people to keep track of the acquisition. This so it gets clearer what does and doesn’t salvage into this.

but I’m still pretty convinced that there seems to be bug, as salvaging other exotics for inscriptions seems to give me like a 1:5 yield
