Experiencing High Ping Spikes Since Update
i got a normal ping but unbelievable +3s skill lag.

I have that too. I just thought it was the ping. I’ll blink and keep running, then after I pass the place I tried to blink to, I’ll blink backwards…
I really want to go PvP but I know I’ll just hinder the team.
Ping and FPS looking ok to me most of the time, but map loading is much longer and i have occasional lag spikes…

Yes, for me also the loading of the maps is significantly longer than before
Yes this has been happening to me since downloading the recent patch also.
My ping will randomly SPIKE from around 70-90 to over 600-1900 and then go back down to 80-100 only to spike back up again a few moments later with SEVERE skill lag.
I have tested my connection several times since noticing this and on my side it seems stable, with 60MB/s down and 10MB/s up no spiking at all in over 20 individual tests.
Tried the whole resetting modem biz also. Normally I’d say this was ISP issues but this started immediately after the patch went live which is why I’m posting here.
Yup same, did a pingtest and my ping stayed around 92-94, check my ping in game and it’s ~110 but I still get anywhere from 1-3 second skill delay.
If I blink, the ping goes up, if I kill something the ping goes up. It seems to be related to doing things.
Maybe packet loss?
I seen a increase in time in loading maps and even when I use the hero panel it takes awhile for my character to load in it. I didn’t have this issue before till the update.
Edit: Also my character don’t appear in the Hero Panel for awhile (like 10-30 secs) if I’m in a crowd, they don’t render fast like normal.

I remember GW2 got DDoS attacked before. Might it be happening again?
Why would someone want to DDoS GW2? It would take many people too, why would many people want to?
Same problem here. Lag spikes and high ping after this patch :/
~700 / ~4k ping when I used to have ~60-100
Mine says 0 but I’m getting serious skill lag.
I can’t play like this either. I even got a G600 MMO mouse last night for sPvP and I have no time to get used to it with this lag.
Is it a DDoS ANet?
Getting massive skill lag, ping spikes of over 1000 and got booted off to the character screen 3 times in the last 5 mins.
OMG game is kittening unplayable.
I’ve had the same issues since yesterday.
Normally I’d get around 46-50 FPS and maybe 13 Ping at medium settings (Geforce 710m) and since the update I get major framedrops to around 11 FPS even at lowest settings and my Ping is on average 300-400 with spikes of up to 1400.
External tests show my Ping is about 14 on average and Just GW2 has these problems.
I’d very much like to know where the problem lies and what we should do.
Getting tremendous spikes as well. 0 – 2,900k, 300-500, and then there is skill lag galore. I would love to know what is going on; please address this quickly, efficiently, and holistically.
Same as previous people. This game has become unplayable since last patch. Unbelievably slow to load in, and if I do get in, the environment and objects take forever to render. So sad, as I just got back into it a few weeks ago.

I beg you, whatever you did in the last patch, undo all of it..
lag spikes, 3x longer map loads, random crashes (just lost 45 mins crashing on last fractal 50 and an hour ago half of my guild crashed at once)…..
FYI, adding -maploadinfo to the GW2 shortcut makes it fairly clear the extra time on map loads has to do with the streaming client update
you broke the game, please unbreak it

They say the fixed map loading in the new update.
My ping is still really high. So they didn’t fix that.
Same problem here.
500-600 when i had 180-200 before.
This is horrible for PvP and dungeons, my skills takes 2.5 to 3s to use.
:(
This looks a lot like when we had certain ip’s that were spiking due to hardware.
I hadn’t noticed it earlier when I was testing something, but I ended up in an LA now, ip ending .62, and noticed it happening a lot. Also, while I wasn’t personally noticing this happening wednesday, but I saw a lot of other people rubberbanding all over LA and thought it was strange. Figured it was people’s connections like it normally is, and figured it was mine as well since it’s verizon and everyone knows how they are lol. But others were saying it’s been an issue for a few days.
My ping keeps jumping up to just under 2000!
I literally get to play for all of two minutes before freezing, lag and/or crashing occurs.
Please fix this quickly, Anet!
I thought maybe it had settled down a bit since the log on fix, but I just got another bout of 10 second skill lag and got booted to the character screen twice in the middle of Teq. Like I’m not losing my connection, I can jump straight back in without having to re log on, but it keeps kicking me to character select with a notice about losing the server connection.
Edit: Happened again, the exact wording is. "The game client lost its connection to the server. Please wait a few minutes before restarting the client and trying again. (Code=7:11:3:191:101)
Was kinda hoping we’d get a response from the devs just to say they at least know about the issue, before the weekend, but that isn’t looking likely now

I have the same problems.
My normal ping is about 40-70 in GW2. Now its over 300 moste of the time. In other games my ping is still under 60. What’s wrong with you ANET.
PLS FIX
