Hey – so i found this earlier today.
You can see in the image, I’m working on my crafting skills – with armorsmithing, making leggings seems to be a completely different recipe to what it used to be.
I only found this out while i was doing discoveries with insignias, and found that leggings didn’t show the general “1 legging panel, 1 legging lining” and instead had bronze ingots, and jutes which completely contrast to the rest of the recipes.
This is the (SIMPLE) version so it should have those otherwise legging lining+panels become redundant.
Double-checked this with the wiki to make sure it was the right name and all.
You would have used karma, probably from a heart vendor. You’ll also notice how many you need of each item – it’s much more than normal crafting. Like I said, I could be wrong, but I’ve picked up a lot of the recipes from karma vendors. They’re mostly very odd like that. I have one on my leatherworker for whispering pants which is the same as a recipe I discovered, but the stats are different.
I took a look at my armorsmith (who has the same recipe) plus checked around my other crafters who have karma recipes. I think you’re right that this is one of the starter recipes. It’s not the recipe wiki has listed, and, like I said, it more closely resembles some of the lower level karma merchant recipes.
I have not trained Armoursmithing yet but my leatherworking is up there and I should imagine the crafting works pretty much the same. To me this def looks like a bug. No item components needed and the numbers for the other mats seem off (14 bronze bars etc).
Also regarding the karma vendor recipies, these recipes are usually NEW items to make and not duplicates of other recipes that have to be “discovered”. Which pretty much these types are (the one being shown).

Actually, here are a couple of screenshots. I have two identical recipes with just different names, 1 of which is a karma recipe. I also included one of the lower level karma ones that shows odd requirements. The recipe he’s talking about looks to be one of the ones you start with when you take armorsmithing. My armorsmith has the same recipe, and I know I did not level up making leggings.
Tbh I have a recipe similar to your 3rd picture and it makes a lot more sense than the 1 in the very first post here. Just looking at the name of the item you can tell it’s a normal item he you should be able to make without any special recipe/wierd materials.
Btw your “identical recipes” are not identical. Every weapon/piece of armour that can be crafted has both a pre name and last name. The pre name refers to the weapon bonus stats (such as cond damage, power etc) and the last name referes to any bonus that upgrades give the item. The 2 you posted I am sure are different by their “skin” type. To test it you can right click on their pictures and you should see the preview option.

Yes, the look is different but the recipe (ingredients) is the same. I am not disagreeing with you that there is something wrong with the recipe. I am pointing out that there are a lot of strange things in the crafting recipes. If I were to make a guess, I would say that the simple recipes might have originally called for just the ingots and the leggings failed to get switched.
