FPS drop to 10 in Bandithaunt Caverns
Same here, it only recently started dropping to this. I have 2 GTX-570’s in SLI, and run the game flawlessly in other areas, but it drastically drops here, almost to being unplayable, and it was a recent change, in the last 2-3 weeks
I’ve never had a problem with this area before- BUT last night my fps dropped from 20+ to 8 – I’m glad i only had to get the vista (i was the only player in the caves at the time)
I can confirm this as it happens to me too. It didn’t happen in the past as I lvled multiple characters in the area and haven’t seen any fps drops before.
Just happened to me few seconds ago. I was worried something is wrong on my side but apparently not
Same here. That area sucks the hell out of my pc. But if you move more and more to the east in that cave the fps return…
This bug was supposedly fixed before, but it’s was never quite right. It’s the bombs that make it lag. They still keep spawning and eventually you have dozens if not hundreds of bombs stacked together.

Oh, that’s what it is. I too have noticed that my fps drops drastically in this area.
We’re attempting another fix for this issue with our next full update. Thank you for the reports!

I don’t have this problem in Bandithaunt Caverns, but my frame rate does drop dramatically in The Shattered Keep (with the pirate ghosts) in Sparkfly Fen, which is likely because of the same bug.

Same problem, bandithaunt caverns and have randomly experienced it other places.
Win7 sp1, i7 930 2.8ghz, 6gb ddr3, 1gb GTX 460 driver 310.90
regular fps around 45, when bug occurs it drops to around 6-10
I always got something akin to this in the Charr city (so I avoid it). If I change to another resolution or windowed mode it fixes it, so I think it’s some kind of driver problem that is fixed by a reload. Then I can go back to my usual resolution (windowed full-screen) and play normally.
I haven’t tried it in Queensdale, but have a go with the solution I’ve put above. I hope it works for you.
I just want to add here that the FPS problem in Bandithaunt is because the barrels repeatedly spawn on top of each other; it is not a hardware problem.
If you see this bug in a specific area(s), please keep an eye out for any creatures or props that could be causing similar behavior. If you encounter the issue on a regular basis and it is not limited to a particular area, it may be hardware based.

I just did http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Time_for_a_Promotion – and had the same FPS-problem in the arena – playing a necro, using blood fiend and bone minions
- i just excited Black Citadel, also getting the 10fps bug there – strangely enough it helped after I returned after tabbing out to write about it

I haven’t been to this location for a while, however, I too had this issue a while back. Next time I play, I will check whether this was fixed.

How about The Shattered Keep in Sparkfly Fen? It’s the only place in the game that I have frame rate problems.

eh, I’m experiencing ALOT of fps drops. Lions Arch, Sparkfly Fen, TA, Frostgorge Sound, etc. I don’t believe its a hardware problem, or anything like that. I mean I go from having 40+ FPS down to 3-10fps. It’s frustrating. :|

I’m pretty sure this is a different issue from the one the OP had described.
The problem you have described sounds exactly like a situation that happens to me quite often – maybe once or twice a day – only it usually occurs when I’ve just loaded from another zone, or I have programs running in the background and the game tries to load a group of doodads or players.
I’m not sure the exact cause (very likely hardware), but alt-tabbing and returning to the game fixes the problem for me every time. If that doesn’t fix it, then there may be a larger problem, but that problem should be expressed in a new thread.
Cheers

I know its a minor thing but it not the barrels, its actually the bombs that keep spawning on top of each other. I’m sure you knew just wanted to clarify to make sure.
