Fall damage is absurdly sensitive
i have died walking off the hill at claypool..didn’t even fall..so i mush agree.
No kidding. There are times where I take a few steps down a slot and suddenly lose half my health and my character was walking smoothly with no indication that I suddenly dropped for a split second. And then there are times I jump off a cliff with a further distance then a slope a walked down and barely take any damage at all. And then there are rare occasions where I jump off a cliff that should cause me to lose half my health at least and I take very little to no damage at all.
I’m sure some of the times taking damage while walking down a slope I never had any kind of movement increasing buff or trait active.

The trouble here is that falling damage is scripted to take effect whenever your character falls more than a certain distance within a short period of time. This includes not only base falling, but also stuff like running down stairs or a slope faster than usual.
The second part of the problem comes when the damage script fires every time you “land” on a solid surface, which again, stairs and slopes count for. That results in falling damage triggering multiple times when it shouldn’t be occurring.
A bug “re-introduced” on the last feature pack. I suppose not many have complained.

I am having this issue also and it’s getting annoying. I run down a hill and suddenly die and have to wp. I tried walking slowly yesterday down a slope in Wayfarers from the fur collecting event and the same thing happened, so you don’t even have to be running now.
A bug “re-introduced” on the last feature pack. I suppose not many have complained.
Think the bug is more related to lag, when the server thinks you are somewhere else
then the client actually shows you. But its really very annoying.
