This is especially noticeable in jumping puzzles like the one in WvW Borderlands. I’ll make a big leap with my Asura and he will scream like he is dying, even though I landed safely or with minimum damage. It’s also off-putting when I DO make a death-defying jump say into an ocean, and I land fine and then start swimming, and THEN the jump scream kicks in.

I have had many similar experiences and it indeed is jarring. For one, there is no reason to scream if you safely land in water, besides you can’t (or shouldn’t be able to, as it may be) even scream underwater :P

I get this also.. I jump off a rock and I’ll start screaming. I know there’s a lot of critical issues that need to be addressed first, but I just wanted to make sure Anet was aware of it.

I have noticed this as well, almost every time i take a big jump (like the diving board in la) the scream doesn’t start until after i hit the water and sometimes it starts half way into it (which isn’t that bad) but lasts several seconds after landing. Other times i get it after dropping a measly couple feet where i take no fall damage at all.

Yep, the same sometimes even triggers when going through Asura gates.

Slightly off topic I know, but I just wanted to add my 2 copper to say how much I enjoy this bug. The male Asura scream is by far the most entertaining thing in this game, and having it trigger repeatedly has often reduced me to giggle fits.

To the voice actor who created this, bravo.

I have one character of each race, and I’ll note that this problem seems most prevalent on my (female) charr. Even teensy jumps off rocks that do no damage have her howling like she’s being stung to death by fire ants. It also happens quite frequently on my asura. It seems to happen least frequently on my human and sylvari.

My male asura does this as well, even with very short jumps (2x height of character), usually into water. I haven’t noticed it on any of my taller toons. It catches me off guard sometimes. I do notice the delay as well, especially obvious at the diving board in L.A.

I once jumped off a bridge in Lion’s Arch, landed safely in the water, swam to shore, dried off, ran to the trading post to pick up some cash, went home to take a nap, and woke up screaming like I was on fire.

ROFL Nethelli… yeah, it is pretty much that ridiculous.
