Firstly, glad to see ArenaNet testing the FoV adjustment for widescreen!

I’ve noticed discussion in this forum about the increased outward level of zoom experienced during boss battles, and that there appears to be a bug which keeps the extended zoom during and after playing Ascent To Madness for example, which is in my view a welcome ‘bug’ (at least during PvE play).

This is not about either of the above but is kind of related. If this has already been discussed I apologise!

One of the most frustrating things I encounter while playing (on my laptop) is when I am downed while playing as my thief. The downed skill which allows you to teleport is useless to me because invariably my camera always begins pointing down at my crippled body upon being downed, and there appears to be way less zoom available than in normal play, as well as the camera now being closer to the ground. It is virtually impossible to move the camera around and get a handle on my surroundings then select a safe place to teleport to, in the time available before I get finished off for good, because I can hardly see the ground about me. Even worse in rough and hilly terrain. Most of the time I am scrabbling around for a spot which I can actually tele to (that doesn’t give a red target zone) that is actually any distance at all away from my soon-to-be corpse without any chance to consider the position of any of my foes, even if I could actually see any of them.

Playing solo as a thief, being downed is certain death unless I’m lucky enough to kill a mob before I die or am lucky enough to have some other players being around to help revive me from downed. Perhaps the thinking is ultra realism, that it should be basically your eye view as a incapacitated player on the ground, but it is not fun at all.

If you could only make the camera zoom all the way out instead to the extent say that you now get when playing in Ascent to Madness, then you could tactically select a position to teleport to with some hope of actually succeeding. The camera could then be programmed to zoom back to normal view after a revive. At the moment, to me it feels horrible :/
