I am having issues with the Fiery Dragon Sword being so bright that it makes the floor have a really strong glare. This impacts the performance of the game and makes telling red enemy AoE circles incredibly hard to see.

You probably want to adjust your graphics options (and perhaps those of your graphics card, too). The glow from the FDS is one of its cooler features, imo, since it allows you to easily navigate otherwise dark corners of Tyria.

Consider changing your game (or windows) gamma settings — from your screenshot, it looks like that is turned up higher than most people run them. The FDS glow is barely noticeable for me in areas that have direct sunlight or are locally illuminated.

If that doesn’t work (or you have already tried it), please post what your in-game graphical settings are so that people can more easily recommend other things to try.
