I went to do fire elemental with a couple of my friends, we were all level 80 and had 2 ranged and 2 tanks. When we got there, there were about 3-5 other people that were above the level needed (15). WE ALL DIED!!!!! Wtf, now apparently the Fire Elemental has been buffed to kitten. When we tried to go across the bridge back in we got annihilated by its tornadoes that it spawned OUTSIDE of the area. Ya that’s right, it spawned tornadoes on the other side of the bridge where it was “safe” before.

*We did finish it, the reward was garbage

Hmm…did it yesterday with only 4 people. No idea what their level was. You have to constantly be on the move to avoid the fire tornadoes.

The fire elemental was made harder and that was ArenaNet’s intention. The old version of this boss fight had no danger at all. You shouldn’t expect these world bosses to simply be about DPS as they were before. You all need to learn how to avoid its attacks etc. This is no bug, neither is it impossible seeing as you managed to defeat it.

I think this is a little extreme, like seriously the tornadoes come the entire way out of its spawn and wont even allow people in to fight it

After the boss updates the Fire Ele was bugged for awhile, when that was fixed i tried it only once.
Couldnt even attack the Fire Ele cos i was to busy fighting Embers and avoiding alot more fire AoE’s. At some point, dodging, i fell outside. I ran back, crossed the bridge, and nearly died trying to get back into the room. I walked to the right onto a ledge, to re-gen. Through the wall i was still taking AoE dmg. Then i noticed very frequently other players running across the bridge back into the room.
While still on the ledge getting to full health the Fire Ele died.
But i was like WTF, and decided to not bother anymore.

You should’ve seen the fire elemental at game release… He’s still very easy if you don’t forget your character can actually be controlled by pressing keys on your keyboard. Killing him while AFK is a bit harder now, and should be.

The new Fire Elemental is only slightly harder than the original one. The original one I could melee it down, and I’m a Ranger! The new one requires me to use gasp my bow, and run in a circle around him the entire time. Both the original one and the new one I have taken down solo, so I have a hard time calling it too over powered.

You want over powered, go fight the Champion Brood Mother in Orr.

Stop standing still. Before the boss revamps practically every boss event in the game is stand still and spam 1. They’re changing that.

How to beat it with little/no effort:
1) Kite in a circle around the elemental (don’t walk into it) and just range it down. This kiting keeps the “fire tornadoes” from affecting you for most of the fight.

2) Stop to kill spawned embers if you have more than 1-2 tracking you. Before you know it, you might be unlucky enough to have 4+ wanting to burn your face off and you won’t have a chance to react. Usually you’ll only have 1-2 following you at a time, and they’ll probably switch targets before they really become a problem.

3) Dodge out of AoEs.

It’s not that difficult if you apply the same techniques used in high level areas. Bosses are meant to be challenging, not faceroll-easy.

Seriously? I can practically solo fire ele. I think I’d fail to inflict enough DPS in time, but staying alive is easy.

• Never stand still, keep moving to avoid the lava and fire rings, and the fire tornados
• If you get knocked down or launched, immediately stun-break, and dodge away. The only real way to die is to be caught in a knockdown inside a fire ring.
• Favor ranged weapons over melee. You’ll have more room to maneuver.
• Keep your health topped off. Eat some +regen food, it helps a lot.

I do not mean to belittle you, but it appears you maybe fairly new to this game and may not understand some of the mechanics.

1) The game auto levels. You maybe 80, you maybe a well geared level 80. However, at the Fire Elemental, you are leveled down to 15. Maybe a top end geared level 15, but still level 15. According to your statement, you had upwards of nine level 15 players attempting the encounter. That in and of itself is kind of low.

2) Tanks don’t exist in this game. If you are having people try and facetank FE or other stuff, you’re fighting a losing battle.

3) All rewards are garbage. You can craft, buy or earn your exotic gear through a ton of different methods.
You salvage the rares for Ectoplasm and combine the major sigils in the forge for a chance at higher level sigils that sell really well.

Like others have said, stay ranged. Every class has access to ranged weapons, stun breakers and ways to regenerate health.
