I was trying to finish up my dailies last night before I logged and went to do the FE event in Metrica Province. I managed to get gold for several pre-events as well as for the boss fight.

I got the chest, but never got credit for the event on my daily listing. All the Daily listing had on it was to do any PVE, WvW or PvP (which included any region events like the Jormag dragon, Fire Elemental, etc.).

So why did the successful completion of the FE NOT count for my daily?

At this point on my dailies, I had 2/3 completed and had not yet done the FE event. Still had 2/3 after doing the FE…so I am a bit miffed this did not count for me.

You’re mistaken about the dailies. You’ll have four Daily Achievements you can do from each category of the game (PvE, sPvP, and WvW). Doing any three of those 12 achievements will complete the full daily reward for you. Fire Elemental was not a daily for last night/today.

You can see the dailies you have to choose from for the day by pressing H, clicking on Achievements, and then clicking on Daily.

Ok, I went back to check and I see what you are referring to. But, why do I have to do WvW, PvP or any of those types of things to complete the daily when I do not like to do PvP, WvW or such?

Why am I limited to just one or two PVE items for the dailies?

I really would like NOT to be forced into pvp or wvw stuff if I do not want to do those.

That is not fair to those of us who do not like to do those other two types of things.

Also, I am not into Fractals either. Rather difficult to do one of those unless you get into a group. And I’ve not been successful joining pugs.

You have four options for PVE, just like the PvPers have four options (and the WvWers, too). Even though you don’t like Fractals (trust me, I feel you there as I’m also not a huge fan), they’re still PVE and will often be part of the daily. You won’t miss out on much if you choose to skip a day if you don’t want to do wvw and pvp dailies; you’ll just miss out on the 10 AP.

For the record, the Daily Ruins wvw achievement is pretty fast and easy to do solo. Same with wvw Big Spender (which isn’t an option TODAY, but it comes up at least once or twice a week).

Yes I totally second this. Usually you can do all 4 PvE things, it’s not often we get forced into Fractals/PvP, and on the rare occasions when we do I find it’s actually pretty easy to get a couple in WvW. Sometimes all you have to do is buy something

I just did the ruin one in WvW….I did not know about those. I thought I had to be in a large group for anything in WvW.

So one of my guildies showed me about them…and I got the daily completed. Fairly simple for that now that I understand how it works.

So now I learned something new.

I just do the ruin capture and get out when I get the double fractal day,which btw is one of the dumbest things anet did with this daily system.

There are also always a few PvP arenas opened specifically for daylies. It’s easy to get at least one or two daily quests done in there too.
