I was messing around today to see what counted towards my fish slayer achievement. This might be a little critical of me, but the Humpback whale counted towards this achievement. Since whales are mammals and not fish I don’t think they should go towards your kill count for fish.

Also Jellyfish aren’t actually fish either, but they also count towards fish slayer.

Sea Turtles count towards Fish Slayer too.

You’ll all be getting angry visits from Greenpeace soon…

Just as miraculous as bird pets taking fall damage. Or burning condition under water.

Actually, in Tyria, mammals that live in the sea are fish.

Not everything in Tyria has an exact counterpart in our world:

• AOE splash damage only affects foes and neutrals; it never affects allies.
• Burning during combat is not extinguished by water, doesn’t spread to nearby characters, and never affects flammable materials.
• When player characters die, they can rise again without becoming undead. However, for some reason, NPCs can die during a personal or living story episode and cannot be resurrected.

tl;dr just because something is true on our planet, doesn’t mean it will (or even should be) true in GW2.

Player characters never “die,” they are actually just “knocked out.”
