I haven’t paid as much attention to the game in the past half year or so as I used to, so forgive me if this has been mentioned before or if it is a new “feature” that is “working as intended”. But it feels like a bug to me.

More and more often, my Staff Elementalist skill #3 – “Flame Burst” – has been refusing to work for me, citing “No line of sight”. It never used to have a line of sight restriction, but now it often remains un-castable even when I’m practically on top of my target. This is the only skill/spell in the game that has ever brought up the “No line of sight” notification for me.

I’m not totally against restrictions like this, but like I said it seems that this is the only skill affected, and I am experiencing it even when my toon is poking her target in the belly-button with her index finger. Therefore I’m thinking “BUG!”

Meaning it’s not a bug? It’s supposed to require line-of-sight?

That’s fine, if so. But it’s still often keeping me from using the skill when I am right on top of my target. (And if I’m in a zerg, other players should not block me from having LoS – they don’t do that in any other situation).

Once again, it only seems to be this particular skill in which I’ve run into this. And it isn’t even a “missile” style skill that travels from my toon to her target, where you would expect LoS to be pertinent.

LoS requirement was added to get around some issues with the skill’s behavior. Basically a band-aid.

These issues occur with all the skills that require line of sight afaik. It’s beyond annoying. About as annoying as when some skills go on cooldown without activating, almost because they just felt like it.
