The auto attack will randomly miss even when in melee range and not moving. This makes the flamethrower all but useless, and incredibly annoying. Please look into it.

This has been going on forever.

I doubt they even care about Engineers anymore.

They care enough to nerf grenades by 30% dmg for the use of lame kitten sigils

Edit: and on topic the flamethrower rarely hits objects like the burrows in AC

This is just one of a huge number of bugs that exist in several different professions, have existed forever, and are not likely to be fixed any time soon – best bet is to change your play style to fit what actually works, or just stop playing. If you re-roll, I strongly advise against thief, ranger, and mesmer as they are far more heavily bugged than engineer, and despite being reported in these forums repeatedly we are not seeing any fixes.

My engineer friend got this problem since the last patch.
