For some reason, whenever I use my flamethrower the backpack clips with the Spinal backpack.

Now I don’t really mind this a lot. But I’ve seen a few engineers in LA that were able to use their flamethrower, and still have their Spinal Blade Backpack visible (without the flamethrower backpack). Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a screenshot of that, nor did they answer my whispers when I asked how they did this.

Does anyknow how this is possible, or is it merely a glitch?

I believe there’s a rifle in the game that uses the same model as the flamethrower (or one very similar to it). Perhaps those people were using that gun instead of the actual flamethrower.

I believe there are also flamethrower bundles you can pick up off the ground in certain places (like some of the camps on Southsun) that don’t have an associated backpack either. There may even be somewhere you can buy consumables to equip such an item, though I don’t really keep up with all the different consumables found in the game to the point where I know for sure.

Whatever the case, I’m pretty sure there’s no way to use kits without showing the associated backpack tied to the kit itself.

This actually happens with every backpack and kit I believe. At least my Mad King Memories: Complete Edition does.

Engineer backpacks are definitely glitchy with the visuals. I think you’re supposed to have the backpack displayed when you have a kit equipped and the backpiece when you don’t, but at times I’ve managed to have both displayed or neither. I seem to recall emotes messing with it.

I would really like to have the option to turn the backpack off and just display my wings all the time instead of the backpack most of the time. :/
