Guild Wars 2

I have been able to repeat this bug 4 times now.

Character: Nia ap Cradoc

I go through the instance right to where you meet Trahearne at the Barrier, he asks for your opinion, the Client then loses the connection. when you log back in you are outside of the instance to start it once more.

I have submitted a bug for this as well.

This is obviously blocking me from proceeding further on this Character.

I find it disappointing that after 15 days I have not had a resolution not even a reply. I have pre purchased the next expansion, but now I find myself wondering whether that was a wise decision.

I want to use that character in the next expansion but cannot do so because of this bug.

You should still be able to use that character, whether or not you’ve completed the core game story. HoT’s story will likely just continue along with the living story line, which doesn’t require a character to have completed anything else. You shouldn’t even need to have completed the current living story content.

As for the bug with your instance, try to provide as much information as possible on what happens. Error codes, etc.

Yes I appreciate that I can play but I do want to complete on this character.

The error is "The game client lost its connection to the server Code 7:11:3:191:101
I only have ever had this error when finishing this storyline and this happens every time I try to complete this.

It seems very unlikely that it would be an issue on your end if it happens at the exact same point every time. Especially if you’re not getting disconnects in any other parts of the game. You’re probably just going to need to submit a support ticket here https://help.guildwars2.com/home

It’s still possible that your router/firewall/etc could be part of the issue. But it seems unlikely, unless that particular point in the story instance creates some unique traffic to trigger it. You can rule those out by temporarily disabling your firewall, or connecting your PC directly to your modem (if you have one as a separate device). I would not recommend doing both at the same time.
