I was fortunate enough to have been running OBS while recording this fractal 20 run. I’ll run through some facts about the run:

We rotated it out to start at swamp like most groups are doing these days.

It went swamp – cliffside – flame shaman – maw

No wipes and the run went incredibly smooth

Swamp was four manned, fifth showed up at start of cliffside

Edit: As in the post below, I’ve realized only now after looking at the video a few times that poorly timed exit to Lab was initiated. So rather than this being a bug report, I’m leaving it for Anet to review and potentially consider using red text in the warning or something eye catching.

Maybe it’s bone headed not to notice. But either way, it could save others some trouble.

Alright, had the time to review the video a few times and noticed something (after all this effort of making this report)

That dialogue after the maw looks like what you would get if someone asked to leave. Not sure if that function typically requires the initiator to reconfirm their choice though.
Dialogues that wipe progress and dialogues that further progress do need to look less similar though.

Well, some odd things happened in your video.

• For yourself, there’s no proof you didn’t run a lvl20 fractal before. You not getting a chest might be legit. Especially since the timezones and the reset times vary.
• You didn’t finish the dungeon. Why ? You got moved out before 5 ppl said so and the parties progression level didn’t go to 21 when you re-entered the lab. That means others might have pressed “leave to lab” instead of the OK button. That also prevent them from personal progression.

Looking again at it … it was worse than what I previously assumed.
As I said, your party didn’t complete jade maw. But instead of waiting for the daily chest to appear and accepting to go back into the lab, someone pressed "go back to the lab and in your video it clearly states that you will lose progress when you accept. Also, it’s enough for 3 players to accept it.

As coehl said … someone in the party trolled you by leaving and at least 2 others (including you) blindly accepted the dialogue.

Basically, you were the one that trolled your grp by pressing the Yes button last(You need atleast 3 people, i.e majority of the vote in the grp, to leave a fractal dungeon). After watching it a few times you were hesitating and moving around your mouse @ the box hovering over No, but eventually going over to Yes.

Thats why people need to read stuff before blindly pressing Yes. Sorry that you bummed yourself and your grp but it’s your own fault for not reading.

edit: inb4 the want compensation plea: Customer Service won’t be able to help you as it’s a user error and not a bug. And even if it was a bug, they “don’t have the tools to help you” with these kinds of things.

I’ve posted what I feel is a good case for ArenaNet changing the appearance of the two dialogues to be less similar. If it’s even considered to that end, that’s good enough for me. That’s it.

I want to recap a few things before being done with this thread for you Logi:

There was no compensation plea. That’s a straw man that you erected.

As stated before, I had my mind on getting a drink, and a full fractal had been done. So there are situations where people will not read and instead act off of cues.

I’m just going to have to trust that such a ridiculous interpretation, based on the conditions of the video, isn’t the default interpretation for less rude people than yourself.
