I was in a fractal wherein you play as a char and conquer Ascalon. Everything was working well until we got pass through Siegemaster Dulfy and the gate. Me and my party noticed that we only have 1 char on our side and I believe we were supposed to have more than that. We didn’t really care. Not until we got wiped when we were in the courtyard. I thought that I might as well try to go back and see if our char died and try to revive them if possible.

Going back was worth it. I saw what the problem was. I’ll attach a file showing 2 pictures. Time frame of the 2 pics are within 1-2 seconds. As you can see, the targeted charr have full HP. By the time he gets hit by the first arrow, his HP just get drained and die. Another charr would come in and repeat the process.

We moved on knowing that it will be a tough road ahead of us. Everything was going so well until Captain Ashym’s HP was at 25%. We were downed one by one. Luckily, one person was able to recover and it’s the person wielding a legendary. Ashym’s HP was at 1-2%(you can’t see any red bar remaining). Want to know what happened next? Our false hope was gone. The last person remaining got blasted by Ashym’s spinning attack. All was gone and we have to do it again. Is what you think. Wrong. A set of charr came in and killed Ashym. Instead of getting upset about it, I think this is one of the funniest experience I’ve had in gw2.

This isn’t a bug, you just misunderstood the charr in this fractal.

There are two types of charr at the beginning of this fractal, those who follow you, and those who don’t. The charr that follow you will still attack the ever-respawning enemies at the beginning of the fractal, but if you kill those enemies quick enough, you can get them to follow you away from the spawn point. The charr who do not follow you will always fight the ever-respawning enemies, or run into arrow cart fire and get killed immediately.

I figure what happened at the end of the fractal was just as your last person was downed, the charr killed all the enemies at the beginning of the fractal simultaneously, didn’t have anything to fight, and teleported to the closest player, who just happened to be downed at the boss.
