No, this is not about the exploits for the first and last boss (no point pretending we all don’t know about it)

This was a really annoying bug which basically made it impossible to complete the fractal if you made a mistake at the arm seals. I’ll split this post into the bug itself and the frustration it caused my party.

BUG START

Basically, if you die and reset at the arm seals, nothing respawns/despawns. More mobs will still spawn (to my knowledge), but what is there stays there, and what isn’t stays missing.

On top of that, broken seals wipe all the mobs at the seal.

See where I’m going with this?

The issue arises (and arose for my party) when you smash a seal and fail the event and reset. No mobs spawn and if it so happens to be the right seal which you smashed before, no mobs will spawn there. That means when you smash the left seal, you have NOTHING to get a charge from, making it literally impossible to complete the event.

BUG END

So it was really frustrating for my party because it was down to four of us (one disconnected, a pain we all share). It was level 19, and it took a lot to get the four of us running the same strategy. We went all in and serious mode, and just when we thought we had it after approximately four tries when we smashed the left seal, we realised that there was no way to complete it. There was absolutely no way to complete the fractal. On top of that, it was the 3rd fractal for the level, and we were really looking forward to getting to 20 for our daily and first attempt at the rings.

In conclusion, I did indeed feel a lot of frustration from this bug (and a lot of rage), but I really liked how it was actually a challenge for us to do the event despite being cheated out of our win. Still, I feel like having a way to fail fractals a really interesting method, to truly make the Fractals of the Mists a challenge dungeon.

So long that it isn’t due to a bug.

(TL;DR: Don’t fail event when you smash seal. Especially if it’s right seal.)

You can outright melee all the seals you have previously destroyed in the event of a party wipe.

There is no need whatsoever to gain skill 4 on the hammer to damage a seal you have already destroyed once.
