Attempting to /whisper a player who has their friend list set to make them show up as “Invisible” causes the message to fail on grounds that “The player you are trying to whisper is offline.” Not a pressing concern, but it irritates me when I try to contact non-guildies.

I don’t think that’s a bug; that’s how the Invisible feature works. When you set your availability to Invisible, you’re Invisible. You won’t show up as online on your guild roster(s), won’t see guild chat, and can’t receive whispers because the whisper and guild function treat you as though you’re not logged in.

That’s the whole point of invisible mode… to hinder the ability for others to interact with you provided you don’t want them to at a given time.

Plus, to avoid letting anyone know your actual status. It wouldn’t be as useful if it returned the message: “the person is online and just doesn’t want to talk to any of us.”
