In your last patch notes you stated:
“Continued optimizations to the game to improve server performance and work toward eliminating lag during large encounters. We’ll be continuing to improve performance in this area in upcoming releases and provide as optimal an experience as possible with large numbers of players on screen.”

I’m sorry, but you have made the game performance worse. Everyone in my guild has said the same thing. What are you people doing?

I can at least confirm that there has been zero noticeable improvement in FPS, so at best nothing has changed on the client side. Not sure about server side improvements (i.e. skill lag).

I have to agree here.

Lag used to be limited to Stonemist, but now it is in most of EB.

I used to be able to do most things, but now I cannot even pick up bags.

I have not ever spent so much time cussing at my screen as I have in the last few days.

Please roll back to the old optimizations code. This one has a big ball of fail in it somewhere.

My game performance has suffered more since this last patch than prior to it. I’ve had 3 game client disconnects in just the past two days and a lot of lag where I never experienced it before.

Loading screens seem to be doubled than it used to be. I do not have any idea why this is happening.

I tried something the other night and found a very interesting fact. The in-game FXAA, as horrible as it is, caused more of a performance hit than using an alternative AA ability within the game.

Since the last patch while using the FXAA I have a loss of performance.
Using this (http://ipkonfig.com/guild-wars-2-bringing-antialiasing-to-the-game) I gain more performance, but still lose some performance since last patch.

My system:
Intel i7 3820 @ 4.5Ghz
16GB Quad Channel memeory @ 2000Mhz
EVGA GTX 590 (Dual GPU)
Dual 256GB SSDs in RAID 0
Windows 7 64bit

My system is liquid cooled, rocksolid stable. I have never (other than the day the game went live) seen this bad of performance come from the game. Sadly I fear this is as good as this game is going to get. In all honesty it seems NCsoft has dumped their developers off on ArenaNet. With the lack of care ArenaNet has shown to fixing the games bugs and performance issues, I’m losing faith in this company’s ability to progress this game to what it should be.

Not happy anymore with GW2. For a game to get delayed 2 years in a row, this feels like Open BETA to me.

Sad to say but I think Anet might have bitten off more than they could chew (or produce to use a better term). I found the following article extremely enlightening and posted the link in the suggestion forum because I felt it offered some very good suggestions.

Read through that, not surprised by any means — it’s how I have viewed gaming developers for some time. Sadly what ArenaNet is doing is throwing content at us left and right so our eyes are kept busy while the character bugs continue to plague the game.

ArenaNet has admitted to being a small company and with NCsoft being its decision maker, nothing is going to change. NCsoft taught us it is all about releasing a game, throwing content out to the players and walking away. To this day AION is still plauged with hackers/exploiters while NCsoft has done nothing.

Today in WvW players are using Auto-Bots to auto select abilities to fight for them. The person that owns the account is in fact at his/her keyboard — they only need to move the character around while the bot does all the work for them. Look closely at player reactions and you will quickly see what’s going on. This isn’t new news, but ArenaNet knows it does not have a good handle on the exploitation within their game.

Companies are always quick to fix terrain exploits and slow to never on players actually hacking in a PVP situation. Same thing continues to go on in AION to this day, which is one of the reasons I left the game years ago — developers refused to address it. (Guild Wars 2 I knew was developed by ArenaNet developers, so I gave it a chance. Clearly the same mentality at NCsoft has poured over to GW2)

We’re about to hit one year with Guild Wars 2. If ArenaNet decides to continue ignoring cheaters in its game, ignore performance issues and ignore the bugs — I’m done and I won’t ever be a returning customer to any future products they release. GW2 has shown me that it is not in full control of its product (NCsoft makes final call) and does not have the capacity to fix the issues within its own product.

AION, Like GW2, had the greatest potential to be one of the biggest games, but the developers refused to make the game what it could have been — internal politics, lacking the developer support, etc., etc. who knows. Today MMORPGs have become: Build, release, leave.

I honestly coud say that in the last week or so I have seen fps improvement in pve. I have an MBP late 2011 running the Mac beta on roughly medium settings (1-2 high) and normally I get around 30 fps that dips as low as 10 in LA and down to 14 in low populated pve zones while turning fast. And over the last week, I can get up to ~60fps in low populated pve zones that dips to about 23 turning fast. In LA I only dipped to around 15 or so.

I only see this kind of performance and smoothness on my hubs MBPr or his pc on high settings typically. So I have so say, I noticed immediately how smooth it looked while running around.

I haven’t been partaking in WvW recently, so I can’t comment on that, but the amount of time I have gotten to pve has really had improvement for me. I haven’t played enough during prime times to test the skill input lag, but hoping to test that out this week.

(I just wanted to provide a counter to all the unfortunate experiences the rest of you are having, it’s not bad for everyone and hopefully an optimisation will work for you too soon)

Thanks Kyllaa. Didn’t know Mac had better results than PC I, like millions of others, could not wait for GW2 to release. Almost a year later I am losing interest because the games bugs still haunt us and the game performance has been null.

I was hoping this would have been a long enjoyable game, but that is quickly fading with the lack of fixes the game desperately needs.
