Guild Wars 2

Hey all,

I’m trying to download the game client on Windows after switching over from OSX (beta fail), and even though the download was cruising at 3-4 MBps the whole time, I hit 93% and it’s stuck. It wavers between about 30KBps to 0. My internet speeds are fine, just checked SpeedTest.net and got 30Mbps, yet the GW2 download is still crawling.

Is there anything I can do to speed it up at this point, or do I need to restart the download? And wtf?

Also, if I close and re-open the client, will it save my progress? According to this, that may be the case, but I’d rather not risk it.

Yes, it saves the process. It will restart the percentage indicator, but that only shows how many files are left to download from whenever it starts up.

Some have had success with changing the language on the Launcher, finishing the download, then changing the language back.

Guess I’m about to learn French

Thanks a lot Inculpatus, I restarted my computer, opened the client downloader in French, and I’m flyin at 4 MBps again with only the remaining files left to download. ArenaNet is goofy
