I’ve been experiencing a lot of dropped data of late with Guild Wars 2, yet my connection is stable, ping is good, upload/download is good and my computer is running just the game and nothing else, the hardware is fine (it runs other online games with no issue, no slowdown, no animation issues), and yet I’m seeing a lot of characters and items not appearing on demand, of weapons not working, and of events not playing as they should and extremely choppy animation with GW2. This morning however, I gave chase to the Skritt Burglar and well, the attached image says it all. Despite being locked onto that character and less than ten feet behind it, the game claimed that it was beyond the range of my weapons and then suddenly the character was two hundred feet away in the next section over – without any noticeable way of getting there!

Did you get your connection using like a tracert or ping plotter? Just making sure. That sounds like the issue

You’re clearing suffering some sort of lag between your client and the servers. There are all sorts of potential reasons, including problems on your computer, problems with your home network, your ISP, the “hops” between your ISP and ANet’s, ANet’s ISP, and problems on ANet’s end (including server issues).

There’s no way to be sure without running diagnostics, of which /tracert and /ping plotter are two.

The “simplest” approach is to start a support ticket and work with Customer Service and let them do what ANet pays them to do: figure out the issue and help resolve it.

Good luck.
