Here’s a strange issue that I’ve been getting recently.

Randomly while playing GW2 (and ONLY when playing GW2… I’ve been using the same internet setup for over two years and haven’t had an issue like this before!), I’ll suddenly stop send/receiving data… You know, characters start running in straight lines and skills don’t activate, those sorts of things. Tabbing out of the game reveals that I am suddenly unable to load Google, and if I leave it like that I eventually get a yellow warning sign over my internet connection icon in my tray.

Physically disconnecting and reconnecting my ethernet cable seems to fix the problem however.

My router’s model number is an Aterm BL190HW. This doesn’t happen enough to make the game unenjoyable, maybe if I spent a large part of my day playing it might happen once or twice. Just starting a thread in case it might be helpful to Anet or anybody else with a more serious case of my problem.

I’ve had the techs out 3 times to fix this same problem. I got a new provider a day after launch and it’s been crashing 5x + a day for me. Not sure if GW2 is causing it or not. If it is I feel bad for the techs trying to fix it every other day.

I have the same issue frequently – however, since my router also randomly drops the connection, I can’t be sure that that’s the issue when I’m at home.

I was at a friend’s house last night, though, with a steady and strong connection, and it did this once or twice.
